We have a feature that allows for all the children in a given school to be reorganized after the EYE-TA post-session. The goal of this feature is to:
- Create first grade classes using EYE data: If your first grade class lists have not already been decided, you can now create them right inside the EYE app, using RTI data to guide your decision-making. If your first grade class lists have already been decided, you can recreate them within the app, and then:
- Provide first grade teachers a summary of their incoming cohort(s): Once children have been sorted into their first grade classes, a new report can be produced containing all of the relevant EYE data from the previous year.
To take advantage of this feature you must have a coordinator account at the school level or higher and that the data has been validated.
Please follow the steps below to set up your new classes and produce your reports.
- Log into your EYE account at app.earlyyearsevaluation.com
- Under Results Viewing select the Create Classes button.
- On the Create Classes page, you will see a list of all the children who participated in the EYE-TA as well as their RTI scores (red, yellow, green) from the most recent assessment (1) and an empty “Classes” section next to it (2).
- Click the addition
(Create a new class) button in the Classes section to create the desired number of classes.
- The classrooms will automatically be labelled Class 1, 2, 3, etc., but you can change them to whatever you like using the pencil
(Change the class name) button.
- Once you have created all of the classrooms you will need, simply drag and drop the children's names into the class lists to complete the process. If there are children who are no longer attending the school, they can be left in the Unsorted Children section on the left.
Let us do the work for you! If at this point you do not already have the first grade class lists decided, you can also use the button to automatically distribute all unsorted children as evenly as possible among the created classrooms (based on RTI scores). This can help quickly and fairly generate first grade classrooms without needing to do more than pick how many classes you need.
- Once you’re happy with the new classroom organization, you can have the new reports generated by scrolling to the bottom of the page and selecting the Submit Class Lists button. It will take a moment to create all of the reports; they will be presented in a Zip file to download when ready.
- From here you can distribute the reports to the first grade teachers or anyone who needs them!
